Activity 8.1c Train Project

well...to start we first made 9 sub-assemblies. the first sub-assembly was the train body, it took about 1 day to make it. then the second sub-assembly was the train stack, it took about 30 mins to make it. the third sub-assembly was the hitch magnet, it took about 5-10 mins to make. the fourth sub-assembly was the hitch peg, it took about 10 mins to make it.the fifth sub-assembly was the wheel, by far the second hardest piece to make it took about a week to make. the sixth sub-assembly was the axle peg, it took about 10 mins to make it. the seventh sub-assembly was the linkage arm, it took about a good 10-15 mins to make. the eighth sub-assembly was the linkage peg, it took about 10 mins to make it, the ninth and last sub-assembly was the cow catcher, by far has to be the hardest piece to make upon this entire project, this piece took me about 2 week to get made.
Activity 8.1c sub-assembly # 1 " Train Body"

This first piece is the Train body, i first started by making a rectangle (5.5 L) and (2.0 W), then extruded it by (.5). then i made a second square on the posterior end of the rectangle (1.75 L) and (2.0 W), then extruded it by (2.0). after that i created a cylinder with (r.75) and (3.5 L). then i phased the cylinder into the train body and placed it against the square on the posterior end of the train. then a hole was cut into the docile (d .5) and (.25 deep). then a hemisphere was cut out of the posterior cube one the body (R 0.5). then lastly the arc was cut out of the ventral side of the cube.
Activity 8.1c sub-assembly #2 "Train Stack"

The second piece is the Train stack. i first started by making a circle (.5) and extruded by (.25). then i moved the plane up (1.75 h) then made the second circle (.375 d), then lofted the two together.after i made another circle on the top of the second one and cut into it (1.5) deep, then cut a smaller hole inside of that one to be about (.2) and cut it all the way to the cylinder

The third piece is the Hitch Magnet. for this piece i made a circle (.45 d) and extruded it by (.25). then i made a smaller circle on the top of the new made cylinder (.25 d) and cut it by (.25)

the fourth piece is the Hitch peg. for this piece i started by making a circle (.25 d) then extruding it by (.5). then i made a second circle above the cylinder (.4 d) and extruded it by (.6). after i trimmed the circle till it became a hemisphere

the fifth piece is the Train wheel by far one of the hardest pieces to make. i started by drawing a rectangle (1.0 L) and (.25 W),then i fileted it. after i drew a line and revolved the drawing around it to make the wheel. after i made two circles and trimmed the edges off of them to make a deformed type rectangle and making a circular pattern of them around the back of the wheel. then i cut them out of the wheel. after i made a smaller circle on the front of the wheel and extruded it then made a smaller circle on the top of that one and extruded it,after i made a hole from the top of the second circle to the first

the sixth piece is the Axle peg. for this piece i first started by making a circle and extruding it. then i made a second circle on the top of the new made cylinder, and fileted it to make a hemisphere. after i made a hexagon on the top of the new hemisphere and cut into the hemisphere (.111) deep.
Activity 8.1c sub-assembly #7 "Linkage Arm"

the seventh piece is the linkage arm. for this piece i started by making a rectangle (3.5 L) an (.25 W) and extruded it by (.125). after at each end of the rectangle i made two circles that overlapped into the rectangle (.1875 R) and extruded it by (.125)

the eighth and second to last piece is the linkage peg. for this piece i started by making a circle (.0625 R) and extruded it by (.25). then i made a second circle on the top of the new cylinder and extruded it up (.3) after i filleted it to make the mushroom shaped top

the ninth and last piece is the cow catcher, b
